Pura Vida: The Details

Pura Vida is extensive and detailed when talking about the nutrient profile of all of their products on their website, which is clearly a necessary feature when selling products like this. However, the overall feel of the site itself is quite underdeveloped.

While they appear to be passionate about manufacturing and selling products made of hemp, they come up slightly short regarding official documentation that can provide their customers with solid back up of their claims.

Regardless of their validity, their products are unavailable if you live in either the U.S. or Canada, which means you can do a bit of window shopping on the site and not much else.

Pura Vida’s passion lies in producing natural, ‘full-spectrum’ products. Because of this, they are proud to offer products that each contain up to seventy cannabinoids. They also claim that their products come jam-packed with other nutrients, including minerals, lipids, vitamins, fatty acids, ketones, amino acids, chlorophyll, and alkanes.

Now, we mentioned briefly above that Pura Vida has a bit of trouble backing up their product claims, and unfortunately, this hasn’t changed, despite the impressive ingredients list.

Now, this could be a matter of information being lost in translation, because their products are only available for purchase in European countries. However, it’s hard for us to not come back to the fact that we can’t find anything on their website that corroborates with their claims that their tinctures are full of cannabinoids, as well as a host of other nutrients.

It isn’t all doom and gloom, however. We did find on their website a published Certificate of Analysis. What this means is that they’ve tested their product for various levels of cannabinoids present. However, in this industry, screening for cannabinoid levels is only half the job.

The other half is lab testing for contaminants to make sure that you’re not getting some added nasties in your CBD oil. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that they have done this at all, which makes it hard for us to have a lot of faith in their product.

Additionally, the Certificate of Analysis is also dated October 2016. While this isn’t years and years ago, it’s certainly long enough to make us wonder if they’re due for an update and re-test.

Final Thoughts

One thing that this CBD oil company does, according to their website, is visiting the organic Croatian olive orchards where they derive the olive oil found in their products from. This certainly isn’t a testament for their main ingredient, CBD. Therefore it’s difficult for us to determine whether they have the same stringent practices in place for their hemp derivatives as well.

As mentioned previously, there is no way to purchase Pura Vida CBD oil unless you’re physically in Europe. This means that unless you’re in this location, there’s not a lot of point in giving your money to Pura Vida.

  1. I have a friend from Germany who once visited me in the US and brought me a couple of bottles of Pura Vida cbd oil. I’ve never heard of that brand before that and now I understand why. Well, I can’t say that it bothers me that they don’t ship outside Europe. I didn’t really like their cbd oils. I think our brands are better.
